Jess' school had their Prom last night. Gone are the days when you gussied up the High School gym with balloons and crepe paper flowers. They do things much differently in Europe. "So, Princess, where are you going to have your Prom? In a castle?" I asked her. "No, Mom. That's soooo last year," she replied. Geeze, she's calling me old fashioned again. "No, seriously," she said. "They had it in a castle last year, so they have to do something different this time." Where was it this year? In a cave. Yep, you read correctly. They had their Prom in a cave. In the Netherlands. The 2010 Prom was held in La Caverne Geulhem. Wow. The entrance is up a steep sidewalk, off of a narrow street in an unassuming little town. The door is in the side of a rocky mountain, with lots of green vines hanging down the stone walls. Very cool. In fact, I told Russ that this is where we should have our KB Christmas Party next year. I don't think he took me very seriously. Apparently it's a little over our party budget. Go figure.
